Monday Motivation – Lets Get Motivated

Are you the type of person who hates Mondays? Or you just hate getting up in the morning? Do you need a bit of motivation…? Continue reading this post to find out a few things I do to help myself! 

Monday’s can be so draining, especially if you hate your job/school etc! Which number one, if that is the case, you defiantly need to change it, life is too short to be dreading things that are such a huge part of your life! 

We all have different reasons as to why Monday’s/the start of our ‘working’ week can be a struggle, here are a few that help me get the most out of my week ahead.

Plan Ahead! 

I tend to get myself ready for the week over the weekend, I make a plan for each day, what I need to do and what I want to achieve. It helps break the week up and stick with a plan! 

Write lists, they don’t need to be massive essays they can just be notes, down in your phone or on a bit of paper (just don’t lose the paper) for me bullet points help under each day Monday – Friday. 

Each time you complete a task, tick it off! This always helps give me a great motivational boost to being one step closer to achieving my goals! 

Make a plan and stick to it, there is nothing worse than doing all of the above and then reaching the end of the week and not to have stuck to it! Give yourself ‘doable’ time frames and don’t over load yourself! 

Prioritise your to do list so you get the important things done first and then you can focus on the other things when your main targets are out of the way and completed! 

Plan your meals too! A good healthy breakfast and lunch are essential to keep you going through your busy day, also to keep your energy levels up. I like to plan my breakfast the night before, I like to make over night oats and add some fruit! For lunch a salad is always a great idea! 

Sensible Sleep! 

An early night and a good night’s sleep is a must (this is a hard one for me!) I really tend to suffer with my sleep but recently I have got into a habit of putting my phone away before bed and not even having it near me before I go to sleep, so I’m not tempted to keep picking it up. Meditation really helps me get into my zen mode and ready for a good nights sleep.

We all are different so you need to find what works well for you! Just make sure you are catching those Zzz’s so you are refreshed and ready to concur the week! 

Waking up early is great, the thought of waking up at 6am or earlier might not sound that appealing to you, but it really can make a HUGE difference to your entire day! There are so many benefits of waking up early such as, boosting your feel good vibes, you will find yourself feeling more prepared for the day and happier in general! Waking up earlier will also give you the opportunity to fit in a work out (as little as 7 minutes helps!) so you can give yourself a dose of mood-boosting endorphins. Win win! 

Not to mention time to prepare your lunch, prepare your day spend time getting ready without being in a rush …. the list could go on, but as you can see they are all positives! 

Find Your Reason – Do It For You!

Like I said at the beginning of the blog post, we all have our reasons as to why we might find the week difficult, why we can/can’t get motivated in the right way etc. 

You need to find your reasons, set your goals and achieve them, you have to want to do this for you! If you don’t, you won’t achieve these things, and more than likely be stuck in the same rut. 

Take everything day by day, and if you start to feel overwhelmed just take a step back, breath and remember take it slow Rome wasn’t built over night! 

Be positive, feel positive, believe positive and all the positive things will come to you. 

Things I use to help me be prepared 

I use an Erin Condren planner – These are so cool! They are super fun, you can personalise the planner to what suits you, mine was really kindly gifted to me by one of my friends – and one of the best most helpful gifts I’ve received! 

I can’t find my exact one online (as it is personalised but here is one I love!)

I also use lock and lock air tight containers for when planning my meals, these containers are the best for keeping things fresh and not leaking etc! (Also super cheap on amazon!) 

Don’t forget to pick up a metal straw for when you are out and about too, these are super handy for keeping in your bag and saving the environment one straw at a time! 

If you want to plan your meals you can pick up so many things such as this meal planner to help keep you prepared and organised with your food! 

If you do struggle with waking up in the morning there are some amazing ‘alarm clocks’ you can get, one of my personal favourites is the Phillips Somneo Sleep and Wake-up Light with Relax Breath, I saw Lydia Milan talk about this and I just had to look into this more! I really recommend this clock also, especially for those winter months which can be such a struggle waking up in the morning, if you are anything like me I never want to get out of bed in the winter! 

This clock may seem expensive but it is one of the best out there (I’ve done my research) and I do believe you pay for good quality!
