Today’s Little Win- Mum Life- AD

Baking or cooking with kids is never easy, you end up with a bigger mess than you normally would, half the ingredients eaten, and most of the time for us it ends in tears, either mine or Lily’s HAHA!

For all the reasons above I don’t bake with Lily often, it’s so much easier to get it done while she’s at school, but I also have fond memories of being in the kitchen helping my mom, and I want that for Lily too, so I have set a little goal for myself of doing a bit more baking and cooking with Lily by my side.

I picked up a BakeDin rainbow cake kit, as so many of my baking adventures have ended in disaster (a few things burned, and there has been a time or two I forgot to add sugar or baking powder oops!), I figured a kit would be a good place for us to start. I didn’t anticipate how excited Lily would be to bake with. me, but the second I mentioned it she was so excited, it actually made me a little emotional seeing her so excited to spend time with me.

I’m not going to lie to you, it was a bit of a struggle keeping Lily on task, trying to get her to stop eating the cake mix (why??), keeping her calm while the cake was actually baking, but we survived that part of the battle!

We decorated the cake with smarties, white chocolate buttons, and lots and lots of sprinkles, and it actually came out really well!!! I managed to get through this task without completely losing my mind, and with a fully edible cake!!! I’m calling this a win HAHA!

I’m sharing this ‘little win’ to support the #maybebaby campaign, helping women living with arthritis or psoriasis to regain control of their future and not compromise on their own achievements or little wins.
